My name is Steven Harris. I’m an Associate Professor in the Department of History and American Studies at the University of Mary Washington where I teach courses in modern Russian and modern European history. This year (2016-2017), I’m a Verville Fellow at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, where I’m working on my book
project on the history of Soviet and Russian aviation from Khrushchev to Putin. My first book, Communism on Tomorrow Street: Mass Housing and Everyday Life after Stalin, was published in February 2013 by the Woodrow Wilson Center Press and the Johns Hopkins University Press.
